News from the past…

Canada Post, in 2002, issued a series of eight moutain stamps to commemorate the achievements of Bernard Voyer. The stamps depict the seven tallest summits in the world, as well as the tallest summit in Canada; Mount Logan.

Since Bernard is a bit of a favourite for me (being the legendary Canadian explorer that he is), I thought this might be “post-worthy” despite being a few years old.

I’ve just added the Seven Summits page to the Adventures section.

I’ve included “the list” with all the important details attached.

I also thought it would be nice to have some photos for you, so I picked a few and threw them up.

As previously mentionned, I will be using this site to document my personal quest to climb the famed Seven Summits.

This is not an easy goal to set for oneself. Many people die each year in their efforts to reach these high places. High altitude mountaineering, in my opinion, is one of the most absolute tests of a person. What better way to prove to yourself, and others, that you can conquer mountains than to actually go out there and do it? (more…)
