Please forgive the "default" theme. I'm currently in the process of giving the site an overdue redesign. The new look should be ready soon.

A picture is worth a thousand words

I’ve finally gotten around to integrating my Flickr account with this website.

Now, you’ll be able to see my most recent adventure related photos directly from the sidebar.

The Power of Flickr

I’m a huge fan of Flickr for many reasons, but the feature that stands out most when considering the subject of this site, is that it will allow me to email in photos from anywhere and it will automatically post them to my Flickr account.

Now that this site is integrated with Flickr, when I post from the field you’ll be able to see those shots immediately.

Also of interest is the mapping capabilities now built in to Flickr. I try to be diligent when uploading images to make sure I geotag them to map the location they were taken. This way, if you’d like to see exactly where a photo was taken you simply click on the map link.

It’s not perfect, but it’s good enough for now…

With this current method of displaying the photos, to view full sized images the thumbnails take you to Flickr and away from my site.

This is clearly not the ideal way to do things. It will save me some bandwidth, but it will also funnel readers away from my site.

Eventually, I plan to have a fully integrated photo gallery within the confines of this site; but for now, this will have to do.

I hope you all enjoy the photos!
